Tottenham vs Besiktas Istanbul (Europa League, 02.10.2014)

Besiktas are back on English soil as they get ready to play against Tottenham after being edged out of the Champions League by Arsenal London. Besiktas are that team displaying the same form both at home as well as in away games, and Tottenham must look for ways to improve their game if they expect to perform better than against Partizan Belgrade.

The hosts are currently on the 8th place in Premier League, and while they might have problem breaking Besiktas from the start, the visitors have been rather indecisive in front of the goals, even with Demba Ba as their most prolific striker. Their specialty is the draws, but the Spurs are determined to win and increase their confidence. Tottenham have only one win in five matches, and that win came in the League One Cup against a far inferior team. The hosts will be without Kyle Walker, while Danny Rose is currently under doubt.
Besiktas doubt Pektemek’s fitness as in the match against Tripoli the player received a knock and has not featured in any training sessions. The visitors are on the second place on their domestic table, and their recent result is another 1-1 draw against Eskişehirspor, which prompts Slaven Bilic to state: “Honestly, our performance didn’t deserve a win as we failed to create sufficient chances, especially in the second half.” Both sides are under equal pressure, but with Tottenham being used to the Premier League rhythm they should have no problems coming as winners.

888sport has Tottenham as the favorites to win outright at 1.60, and Besiktas got 5.85 odds for the same betting market. A draw between the two teams is at 3.75 and Tottenham to lead at half time is at 2.18 odds, while Besiktas is at 5.30. Ryan Mason is the most tipped player to get booked, at 4.75 odds for a yellow card. Adebayor to score anytime is at 2.16, Soldado at 2.25 and Demba Ba at 4.60. We are betting 8 units on Tottenham to score in both halves with 2.50 odds from 888sport.
