Mali vs Cameroon (Africa Cup of Nations, 20.01.2015)

January 19, 2015 0 Betting, Predictions, Soccer

Cameroon start the Africa Cup of Nations as one of the heavy favorites of the tournament, and their first group D clash is set against Mali. In a group with Guinea and Cote D’Ivoire, every point will be essential which is why tipsters seem to point to a win of the visitors. Both teams will field the best they have at the moment and hope to break the ice and start the group with three points.

Cameroon have learned their bitter lesson from the World Cup in Brazil, where everyone was awaiting big things from them only that they ended the group with three defeats and only one goal scored. Their talisman Eto’o retired after the tournament which could mean younger forwards will get extra motivation to perform right. In the qualifications for the tournament Cameroon did not lose any games, but against Mali they will have to be without their captain Mbia, who got a red card in the match against Cote D’Ivoire. But unlike the old Cameroon team, now the Indomitable Lions have several leaders, all playing in Europe: Choupo-Moting, Aboubakar, N’Koulou, Enoh and Moukandjo are ready to get Cameroon back into the competition they’ve been missing out on for several years.
Mali are riding on the success of their Africa Cup of Nations from 2013 where they surprised everyone and reached the third place. Seidu Keita is their most important player in the midfield area, but Yatabare will be tipped in charge of scoring the goals. Their main striker Diabate from Bordeaux sustained an injury and had to pull out of the squad, but this does not take away from Mali’s merits or the threat they possess in aerial duels. Their strength is the defensive line and considering this is the first match both teams might try to gauge their opponents before striking.

Last time the two teams met was back in 2002 when Cameroon won with 3-0 and Titan Bet gives Cameroon 17.00 odds to repeat the score. An outright Mali win has 3.70 odds, Cameroon has 2.00 and a draw 3.20. One of the most popular bets is Cameroon with a +1 handicap with 1.25 odds, Mali in the same market has 1.72 odds, Cameroon to win the first half 2.70, Mali 4.20, the second half with the most goals 2.20 and Cameroon to win by exactly one goal 3.20 odds. We are going to bet on Cameroon scoring over 1.5 goals with 2.45 odds from Titan Bet.

Lazio Roma vs Napoli (Serie A, 18.01.2015)

January 16, 2015 0 Betting, Predictions, Soccer

Serie A gives way to a highly entertaining match between third and fourth place as Lazio get ready to host Napoli. The two teams are separated by one point only, but Lazio are looking sharp when on Stadio Olimpico where they won the last three matches with 3-0, while Napoli come from a defeat against Juventus and will be eager to prove it was just a fluke.

The Biancocelesti have Felipe Anderson, Miroslav Klose and Stefano Mauri to look out for goals while Napoli relies on Higuain, Callejon and Zapata. However, Lazio received a blow because Anderson was ruled out of competition for at least several weeks with a knee injury and Marchetti is suspended. Napoli will be without Michu and Insigne, while Ghoulam is taking part in the African Nations Cup. Lazio are on an unbeaten run of 10 matches, Napoli were on one of three when they lost against Juve, but the visitors do display a better form in their head to head games where they won three out of four matches while Lazio walked away with only one point.
As stated above Napoli have been in a rather inconsistent form, but they do not have problems scoring, and Rafa Benitez has to inspire his team to do better in away games where they tend to concede early. The stake for this match is high: the third place is the last one to give Champions League access, and Napoli need to gain some distance from Sampdoria with the same number of points, but separated by the goal difference.

888sport give Lazio the edge in this match with 2.55 odds, a draw has 3.20 odds, and a Napoli win 2.90, which is the exact same market we’re betting 7 units on. Both teams to score has 1.76 odds, over 2.5 goals 2.04, Lazio for both halves 3.95, Napoli 4.50 and both teams to score in both halves 14.00 odds. Lazio with -1 has 4.40 odds, Napoli with a +1 has 1.21 and Higuain to score has 2.70 odds.

Ajax Amsterdam vs Groningen (Eredivisie, 16.01.2015)

January 15, 2015 0 Betting, Predictions, Soccer

Eredivisie starts the New Year with Ajax vs Groningen, a match where the hosts not only seek revenge, but also to keep up the pace with PSV. Last time the two teams met back in August, Groningen surprisingly won with 2-0, which is one of the reasons Ajax is now 4 points behind PSV in the Eredivisie table, with only two losses in the first half of the season.

The visitors are currently on the 8th place, which allows them to compete for Europa League places. Leeuw is their main goalscorer with 9 successes and he is fit to start which would put Groningen in prime position to score at least a goal at Amsterdam Arena. They will be without three key players sidelined with injuries, which will put a strain on a team that is not doing well in away games either, having 5 losses, 2 draws and two wins, all while managing to concede 19 goals and to score only eight. The visitors have a good track with the bigger teams, having recorded a draw against PSV and a win against Twente.
Ajax have Veltman who will miss the match because of a hamstring injury he picked up during training while Fisher and Boilsen have been declared unfit. Besides that they are looking very sharp in Eredivisie having scored 43 goals in the first half and conceded only 17. Davy Klaassen is confident fans will see an improved team on Friday, which will help their head to head record against Groningen: Ajax won 16 out of their last 18 matches against Groningen. The hosts are unbeaten on Amsterdam Arena since July, and if Milik will have anything to say about it, goals will be scored even in the first half.

William Hill favor Ajax to win and gives them 1.25 odds, a draw has 5.00 odds and Groningen 11.00 to produce another upset. Ajax for both halves has 1.75 odds, Groningen 17.00, both teams to score 1.91, over 2.5 goals 1.44 and Ajax to lead after 30 minutes 2.15 odds. Milik to score has 1.85 odds, Sigthorson and Schone both have 1.85 while Leeuw has 3.75 in the same betting market. We are betting 5 units on the coupled market of Milik and Schone to score anytime with 3.30 odds from William Hill.
