Napoli vs Inter Milan (Coppa Italia, 04.02.2015)

Napoli return to Coppa Italia in a match against Internazionale Milano in a not so good form. However, a match between two big names almost never has the expected result and even if it does it has one or two dramas along the way. Napoli are currently on the third place in Serie A with 39 points, while Inter Milan fell to the 13th place with only 26 points.

Napoli have a high level of confidence ever since they managed to win twice after the heavy defeat against Juventus and are now just four points behind AS Roma. Insigne, Mesto, Henrique and Zuniga are all injured, while Ghoulam is with his national team which might prompt De Guzman to another starting position. The hosts have the advantage over Inter as they have won their last four matches played at Stadio San Paolo. Last year in Serie A both matches between the two ended in draws to preserve Napoli’s unbeaten streak of four matches against Inter.

The visitors looked back on track after a series of good results which let the fans believe in European football, but in an instant, things went from bad to worse. Inter not only lost against Torino, but also against Sassuolo with 1-3 and are now on the 13th place at an eight point distance from the last Europa League place. Campagnaro, D’Amrosio, Nagamoto and Andreolli are all missing for the Nerazzurri, and with a total of four defenders missing for inter, Roberto Mancini will take comfort in Davide Santon’s return to Inter after an unsuccessful spell in Premier League.

Napoli edged Udinese for a place in the semifinals which is why they could approach it with more practice against Inter, and with their attack of Hamsik, Callejon, Mertens, Higuain and if in a good goalscoring form De Guzman, Handanovic might not be able to keep a clean sheet. William Hill’s headline offers are Higuain to score and Napoli to win with 2.75 odds, and Podolski to score and Inter to win with 9.00 odds.

A Napoli win has 1.80 odds, Inter Milan 4.40, a draw 3.60 and we’re betting 7 units on Napoli to win and both teams to score with William Hill. Callejon has 2.15 odds to score, Zapata 2.30, Mertens 2.45 while Gabbiadini and Hamsik both have 2.50 to score. For Inter, Icardi has 3.10 odds to score, Podolski 3.20 and Bonazzoli with Palacio have 3.50 odds to score anytime.
