Manchester City vs Southampton [Recap, April 5th]

As Manchester City are inching closer to their Premier League title, we won the bet placed on goals to be scored in both halves with Titan Bet. The Citizens got ready for their title match against Liverpool with a 4-1 win over Southampton that left Pochettino lament referee decisions that according to him decided the match in Man City’s favor.

After just two minutes of play, City were given a penalty when Fonte made a direct attempt to foul Dzeko, and Toure was the one in charge to execute it. On the 23 minute Southampton’s Jay Rodriguez came down with a nasty knee injury after an attempt to clear a header, which could only mean that another World Cup dream is over.
This game will mostly be remembered due to referring decisions that are being discussed up until today. Southampton officials are claiming the goal from Samir Nasri was offside, but the linesman was unable to spot it because there were too many players in front of him.

Pablo Zabaleta went on to foul Cork in his own half and the referee gave way for another penalty, which allowed the visitors to claim a 1-1 draw. Samir Nasri and Dzeko made it 3-1 for Manchester City in the stoppage time of the first half and even though the Saints never gave up on their potential comeback, it was City who scored the fourth goal on the 81 minute through Jovetic.
