Italy vs Netherlands (Prediction, 04.09.2014)

There is no clear favorite in the Italy vs the Netherlands match, as two of the unluckiest countries in the Brazil tournament meet for the warm up match. The Netherlands earned the bronze medal in Brazil while Italy weren’t able to overcome their group of death, and only managed to win against England. Despite the aforementioned facts Italy are still given the advantage over Netherlands with William Hill assigning them 2.30 odds for an outright win, as opposed to Netherlands’ 3.20.

New manager Antonio Conte has not called Antonio Cassano or Mario Balotelli to the squad; however he relies on Ciro Immobile to lead the attack, even if the striker spent his last Bundesliga match on the bench. Should Immobile not be called to start, your bet on him would be void, but El Shaarawy and Giovinco are also tipped to score. In the head to head games between these two teams, Italy sport more wins, play on home soil and want to prove themselves in front of their supporters.
Guss Hiddink took over Luis Van Gaal at the helm of the Netherlands, which marks his second trial with the same job. Their injury list is made up of their biggest names form the forward line, as Robben and Huntelaar will not be able to make it to either of the two matches Netherlands have to play. The last match of these two teams ended in a draw, but without Italy’s playmaker, Andrea Pirlo, Italy are left vulnerable.

Both teams are more than capable of making or breaking the game in the midfield, tipsters seem to think that a draw, at 3.20 with William Hill, is one of the most common met bets this day. Italy for both halves is at 4.00, Netherlands at 5.50 and Van Persie to score anytime is at 2.75, while El Shaarawy is at 3.00. We are going to bet 6 units on either Ciro Immobile or Robin Van Persie to score first with odds from William Hill.
