Hoffenheim vs Schalke 04 (Bundesliga, 04.10.2014)

Hoffenheim could be named the team specialist in draws as they get ready to host Schalke, currently on the 10th place in Bundesliga. The bookmakers don’t single out a definite favorite in this match, but still give Hoffenheim the edge over the visitors, most likely due to the fact that they have an unbeaten run since August even if their most common results in Bundesliga have been the draws.

Hoffenheim’s latest result is a 0-0 draw against Mainz even if Modeste had the chance to open the score, only to be denied by Roberto Firmino. Markus Gisdol stated that he would have the same squad as for the match against Mainz. Bikakcic has been training with the team, but has been hit with a flu virus, and is under doubt for the match on Saturday. Salihovic is nursing a knee wound and Jin-Su Kim is taking part in Asian Games.
Schalke were extremely lucky to walk away with a point from the match against Maribor in Champions League as Huntelaar saved the Royal Blues from the embarrassment in the 56th minute. “The points would have been important,” Schalke’s Julian Draxler stated after the game, “but we have enough games left in the Champions League where we can get some points.” In Bundesliga they won with 2-1 against Borussia Dortmund, and have against them the fact that they have never beaten Hoffenheim away from home. Benedikt Höwedes is set to return to training after the international break, and might feature in the match against Hertha.

An outright Hoffenheim win has 2.25 odds as opposed to Schalke’s 3.00. Tipsters predict a draw which Unibet values with 3.50 odds and both teams to score at 1.39. Hoffenheim to lead at half time 1.39 odds, Schalke 2.80 and over 3.5 goals at 2.30. Roberto Firmino and Kevin Volland to score at 2.60, Huntelaar at 2.45 and Maxim Choupo-Moting at 3.25 and we’re betting 8 units on Hoffenehim to score in both halves at 2.65 with Unibet.
