Everton vs Arsenal (Prediction, August 23rd)

Arsenal London are not having what one would call a normal Premier League schedule as between internal competition they still have to fit their Champions League play-offs against Besiktas. As they get ready to visit Everton, after a disappointing 0-0 result with Besiktas and a Ramsey red card, that puts a potential qualification under doubt, the Gunners look forward to the first real test in Premier League.

Everton looked set to get the three points from their opening Premier League match, yet ended up walking away with just one after Leicester City’s Chris Wood scored for a final 2-2 score. The hosts’ strong point is the defense, and with Lukaku in great form, one of the surest bets would be for over 2.5 goals, at 1.85 with Ladbrokes. The last time the two teams met, Arsenal lost with 3-0 and Arsene Wenger blamed it on the little confidence the players had in themselves. We think this time around the visitors will try to avoid any resemblance to that particular match, especially that feeling of being outclassed by a team placed lower than you in the Premier League table.

Considering the Gunners haven’t managed to win against Everton since 2012, it’s no wonder why Ladbrokes gives them 2.50 odds to win as opposed to Everton’s 2.75. A draw between the two sides is at 3.40, and Ramsey is expected once again to play with the same quality he has displayed in the match against Crystal Palace. To our understanding Arsenal need to play brilliantly to avoid any premature talks of not being in contention for the title.

Romelu Lukaku is your main bet for the goalscorer market at 2.37 with Ladbrokes, which is the exact betting market we’re putting 7 units on. Aaron Ramsey to score is at 3.50, as opposed to Alexis Sanchez’s, Giroud’s and Yaya Sanogo’s 2.75 to score at anytime.
