Chelsea London vs Paris Saint Germain [Recap, April 8th]

The bet we placed with William Hill on both teams to score and Chelsea to win paid off only in half, as PSG wasn’t able to count in the attack at all, probably being overwhelmed by Stamford Bridge. Chelsea went through on away goals thanks to the Eden Hazard penalty from the first leg.

Jose Mourinho thinks his team was the one entitled to go through, and that his tactics were the ones that helped ease Chelsea there. Chelsea were in full attacking mode on PSG, only that Sirigu turned out to be the only Paris Saint Germain player to actually perform at Stamford Bridge. Laurent Blanc proved once again just what a class act he is when he not only shook Hazard hand upon substitution on the 17th minute, but instead of whining that his team was unlucky like other managers do, he only said “Chelsea believed right through to the end…they got the goal and good luck to them.”
Hazard’s injury meant Andre Schürrle was the one to take his place on the field; Mourinho was not going to sacrifice any strikers today, unless someone was hoping Torres would get to play. Frank Lampard had an almost goal in the first half, but his shot was saved by a very in form Sirigu. David Luiz passed the ball to Schürrle on the 32 minute and the German put it past Sirigu from close range.

PSG were looking afraid, be it of the ball or of Chelsea players, this is a mystery nobody will find out now. Chelsea’s winning goal came on the 87 minute when Demba Ba, one of the three strikers Mourinho had on the pitch at that moment, finished off a deflected PSG shot.

I got into the exciting world of sports betting years ago when information on the subject was much more difficult to find. Of course I made a lot of rookie mistakes and bad bets but over time I learned from those experiences. Nowadays, those who want to start out placing sports bets have the opposite problem. There’s so much information available that it’s so hard to sort through it all and to know who to listen to. With this blog I’ll be doing that work for you and I’ll strive to bring you nothing but the best betting tips and information the internet has to offer. I invite you, my readers, to actively participate and share your feelings and experiences by commenting on my blog entries!
