Borussia Dortmund will look forward to getting back into their Bundesliga game as they get ready to receive Stuttgart in a midweek league match. Both teams look equally as bad with the visitors on the last place in the table, and Dortmund on the 10th, two points short of the new Bundesliga leaders, Paderborn.
Dortmund almost managed to nullify their win against Arsenal by losing against Mainz, with the same score they previously won in the Champions League. As if that wasn’t bad news enough, Henrikh Mkhitaryan picked up an injury that will keep him off the field for at least four weeks. That only adds to Dortmund’ injury woes, as the list keeps growing, and the Bundesliga pace keeps intensifying. Gundogan has finished team training, but since he did not play a match in over a year, it is yet unclear whether he could resist a full 90 minutes match.
Dortmund’s wild card will be the attack, as Ramos, Immobile and Aubameyang could always deliver amazing goals, provided the last two players keep their egos under check. Klopp stated that after the row for the penalty taker, which Immobile eventually missed, he would have to name the penalty takers in advance to avoid situations like that. To their advantage speaks the fact that they have looked solid at home, and from their last 10 matches against Stuttgart they have only lost one.
Stuttgart are still looking for their first win of the season, as their only point so far comes from a 1-1 draw against Borussia M’Gladbach. Ibisevic might be missing out on the match and Armin Veh will have to rely on Werner to score against a Dortmund side that concedes goals fairly easily as of late. Stuttgart lost with the same score as their future opponents against Hoffenheim, and don’t look poised to win at Signal Iduna Park. Their light at the end of the tunnel is the fact that their last five trips to Dortmund ended with only one defeat.
Ladbrokes favors Dortmund to win at 1.33, while Stuttgart get 8.50 for an outright win. Both teams to score is at 1.72, Ciro Immobile as the first goalscorer at 4.00, while Aumbameyang and Ramos as anytime goalscorers at 2.05. Stuttgart for both halves is at 13.00, Dortmund at 1.90 and we’re betting 7 units on over 3.5 goals per match at 2.10 with Ladbrokes.
