Arsenal London vs Galatasaray Istanbul (Champions League, 01.10.2014)

Arsenal could be winning their first points in this Champions League edition as they get ready to host Galatasaray at Emirates. The Gunners lost their opening match against Borussia Dortmund, and Galatasaray were held to a 1-1 draw against Anderlecht. Cesare Prandelli is struggling to adapt the team to a new playing system and they managed to win only two matches from their last six matches. Arsenal struggled against Borussia Dortmund, and proof would be the 23 shots Dortmund fired on Arsenal’s goal line.

Arsenal have injury woes as Arteta, Ramsey and Wilshere might be missing because of various degrees of injuries, but to Arsene Wenger’s luck the midfield is where he can make necessary changes. In Premier League Arsenal recorded a draw against Tottenham, and will look forward to winning a match on home soil, while Galatasaray might be ok even with a draw. Flamini seems to be the only defensive midfielder at Wenger’s disposal, while Oxlade-Chamberlain was Arsenal’s hero to salvage the point in the North London derby.
In the match against Anderlecht, Galatasaray were losing up until the 93 minute when Yilmaz scored the luckiest equalizer seen in recent history. Cesare Prandelli seems to have a fully fit squad, and even if Altintop made a comeback from his long term injury, chances are he’s not yet fit enough to start. Statistics speak against Galatasaray as they only managed to win three games out of a total of 18 against English teams. Felipe Melo is their key player, and if he starts at the back Galata might find a backline depth they did not have.

This match is tipped to be a very close call, but Arsenal have Ozil and Sanchez in great form even if it will be up to Wenger whether the person who slows the team, speaking about Sanchez, will get a starting spot. The Gunners are the favorites to win this match due to the superior Champions League experience, and Titan Bet gives them 1.55 odds for an outright win. Galatasaray got 5.75 odds for an outright win and a draw got 4.33 odds. Over 2.5 goals has 1.75 odds, Arsenal to lead after 70 minutes is at 1.72, Galatasaray at 5.25 and the Gunners to win from behind at 7.00. Danny Welbeck and Alexis Sanchez to score anytime have 2.10 odds, Burak Yilmaz 3.60 and we’re betting 7 units on both teams to score in the second half with 3.00 odds from Titan Bet.
