Atletico Madrid vs Almeria (La Liga, 21.02.2015)

February 20, 2015 0 Betting, News, Predictions, Soccer

Atletico Madrid must recover from the defeat against Celta Vigo to keep up the pace with their city rivals in the title race. Almeria travel to Vicente Calderon with four points above the relegation zone and after a frustrating draw against Real Sociedad which gave them the rights to the 16th place, the visitors will try to repeat the same result from over a year ago.

Juan Martinez took over a relegation threatened Almeria, brought them safety and recorded only 4 defeats in 11 matches. The team have no pressure, and even if they do need the points, they can for sure get them from somewhere else after the trip to Madrid. Almeria are undefeated in the last three matches having managed to score in each of them, and even in the loss to Valencia they deserved at least the draw. Ruben Martinez is under doubt for the visiting team and Michel Macedo is one again expected to step up for the visiting team and score.
Koke is the only player to miss for Los Rojiblancos ever since the win against Real Madrid and the player is working hard to return in the time for the derby against Valencia at the beginning of March. In the last five matches Atletico lost at home only once, against Barcelona in Copa del Rey, and it will take Diego Simeone once again to motivate his players for a win, considering Almeria never got the three points from Vicente Calderon. Arda Turan and Raul Garcia are both available after suspension and Griezmann will once again be tipped to start alongside Mandzukic while Torres might be rested for Bayer Leverkusen.

Atletico are the obvious favorites and with good measure, but Almeria will put up a decent fight. 888sport give Atletico 1.20 for a win, Almeria got 15.00 and a draw has 6.50 odds. If you think Almeria can score against Moya, 888sport offer 2.50 odds for both teams to score. Over 2.5 goals has 1.68 odds, an odd number of corners has 1.90 odds and an Arda Turan goal has 3.55 odds. We are going to bet 5 units on Mario Mandzukic to score last and Atletico to win with 3.70 odds from 888sport.

VfB Stuttgart vs Borussia Dortmund (Bundesliga, 20.02.2015)

February 19, 2015 0 Betting, News, Predictions, Soccer

It’s Bundesliga redemption time for Borusia Dortmund who travel to Stuttgart, to face the last placed team, which is not them anymore. There’s a four points gap between the two teams, with the only difference being the fact that BVB are now on the 15th place. Speculations have been swimming around the fact that Klopp might want to rest his most important players prior to Champions League, but would that be the wisest choice when you face a team desperate for the three points?

During yesterday’s press conference Klopp put these rumours to rest: “We will field the best team against Stuttgart – I won’t rest anyone for the Juve match.” Stuttgart are unable to win against Dortmund in nine Bundesliga matches, the last one dating back to 2010. Moritz Leitner picked up an injury during training and is yet to be submitted to tests, while Gruezo returned yesterday to training with the team. Stuttgart were heading for a well-deserved draw against Hoffenheim only to see all crumbling down when Rudy scored a 93 minute winner. This result marked their second loss in a row after the 0-2 one against Bayern Munich.
Last season when the two teams met, Borussia Dortmund came from behind two goals to win with 3-2 and Marco Reus scored a hat-trick. This time around half the BVB team was hit with the flu virus, and Jürgen Klopp is unsure on which players he will be able to count for tomorrow’s match, with Durm, Hummels and Błaszczykowski being affected the hardest. Their most recent result is a 4-2 win over Mainz which gives the team confidence for the Stuttgart game even if Dortmund always saw it hard to win when playing at Mercedes Benz Arena.

Stuttgart have nothing to lose which means Harnik and Werner will be up against Aubameyang and Reus for the goals, all while starting with a four man defensive line and four midfielders with one player to make the connection between the two parts of the field. The bookmakers favor the visitors to win, mainly due to the fact that they are a Champions League team, a finalist while at that and need to win back the confidence. Unibet gives them 1.65 odds to win, Stuttgart got 5.30 and a draw has 3.90 odds. Both teams to score have 1.76 odds, over 2.5 goals has 1.75 odds, a Sokratis booking has 2.80 odds, a Romeu one 2.60 and a Moritz booking has 3.00 odds. We are going to bet 7 units on Marco Reus to score with 2.38 odds from Unibet.

FC Sevilla vs Borussia M’Gladbach (Europa League, 19.02.2015)

February 18, 2015 0 Betting, News, Predictions, Soccer

Sevilla will begin their title defense at home, against Borussia Mönchengladbach, the Bundesliga team to challenge for a direct Champions League qualification spot. Thursday’s match will be the second one between the two teams, who previously met in a friendly back in 2012 where it ended in a goalless draw. Gladbach finished top of their group ahead of Villarreal while Sevilla had to settle for the second place in a group with Feyenoord, Rijeka and Standart Liege.

Sevilla started the year in their usual manner, strong squad with strong results, only to end up faltering after the defeat against Real Madrid. To make matters even worse they also lost against Getafe, who managed to escape the relegation zone as a result of those three points. Beto, Mbia, Iago Aspas and Coke will miss the math against Gladbach, where Sevilla look forward to get back in shape, with Iborra stating that the only way to win against Gladbach is keeping one’s cool: “We needed to win, recover our positive sensations and carry on being strong at home, where points have rarely escaped us.” Carrico refused to label his team as favorites for the tie, and said that with an opponent like that every second could be important.
Borussia M’Gladbach are recent Bundesliga experts in winning matches with minimal advantage, three of their last four matches were won with the same 1-0 score, and their loss against Schalke had the same score. Lucien Favre has no injury scares or suspended players which could mean Andre Hahn and Martin Stranzl could return to the starting eleven. Yann Sommer is aware of the danger their opponent could present, but is really optimistic of coming home with a good result: “We have to stay compact and not allow them too much space, as we have done in previous games. If we do that then I’m optimistic that we can win.”

Sevilla have much more experience than Gladbach in Europa League, which can help them avoid costly mistakes. M’Bia scored 2 goals for Sevilla, Hrgota has 8 for Gladbach and Titan Bet offers the following odds in the golascorer betting markets: Bacca has 2.20, Gameiro 2.55, Deulofeu 3.25, Max Kruse and Caetano both have 3.40, Hrgota and Ritter 3.75 while Andre Hahn has 4.20 odds to score anytime during the match.

An outright Sevilla win has 1.90 odds, Borussia M’gladbach 4.33 and draw 3.50 odds with Titan Bet. Sevilla to lead after the 80th minute have 2.00 odds, Gladbach 4.00, no goal before the 30th minute with 1.87 odds. The visitors with a clean sheet have 4.00 odds, the hosts 2.40 and we’re going to bet 8 units on Borussia M’Gladbach to score over 0.5 goals in the second half with 2.10 odds from Titan Bet.

PSG vs Chelsea London (Champions League, 17.02.2015)

February 16, 2015 0 Betting, News, Predictions, Soccer

Chelsea have some old scores to settle as they return to Parc des Princes to face Paris Saint Germain in Champions League. Last year PSG won with 3-1 and one of the goals was scored by David Luiz, back then a Chelsea player. William Hill gives 9.00 odds for an own goal this around.

Paris Saint Germain have an unbeaten run since May 2014 when playing at Parc des Princes. They are currently third in Ligue 1 and with only two points from the first place; they are well on course for another title. However, the fact that they threw away a 2-0 lead against the 15th placed Ligue 1 team suggest their injury worries have taken a toll on the team. Cabaye, Marquinhos, Aurier and Lucas were unable to finish the Caen clash and chances are neither will be fit for tomorrow’s match. Matuidi and Maxwell are also listed by PSG as under doubt for the clash with Chelsea and Laurent Blanc is left to hope Thiago Silva’s expertise will be enough to help Sirigu withstand the attacks.
Chelsea London sit comfortable on the first place in Premier League with a seven points advantage from the second place. Their Wednesday minimal win against Everton showed it does take Diego Costa’s expertise for the Blues to hope for more than one goal in Premier League games. Jose Mourinho seems to have a much healthier squad with only Filipe Luis and Obi Mikel under doubt. Chelsea are a much stronger side this year and one of the players to decide the match is Eden Hazard a player with 13 assists this season and seven goals scored.

While PSG are somewhat built around Ibrahimovic, Chelsea seem to have been built not around Costa, but around Hazard to find the space for counter attacks, while Fabregas will be expected to assist Costa for the goals. In the end it might come once again to Ibrahimovic to carry on PSG on good terms after the first leg and the bookmakers do not seem to predict who will emerge as a winner in this match.

William Hill gives both Chelsea and PSG 2.75 odds to win, while a draw has 3.00 odds. Both teams to score has 1.91 odds and Ibrahimovic has 2.25 odds to score, Cavani 3.00 and Lavezzi with Moura both have 3.40 odds to score. For Chelsea Diego Costa has 2.25 odds to score, Remy 2.75 and Drogba with Eden Hazard both have 3.00 as anytime goalscorers. PSG to lead after 75 minutes have 2.70 odds, Chelsea 2.75 and we’re going to bet 7 units on the second half being Chelsea’s highest scoring one with 2.62 odds from William Hill.

Crystal Palace vs Liverpool (FA Cup, 14.02.2015)

February 13, 2015 0 Betting, News, Predictions, Soccer

Liverpool were pitted against Crystal Palace in the FA Cup, a team they have to settle scores against, for both last season and this one. The hosts came from behind three goals to draw with Liverpool and make the Reds lose on the title, and in November, Crystal palace managed to win with 3-1 against an unimpressive Liverpool side.

Crystal Palace are 13th in Premier League with 27 points out of 25 matches and come from a 1-1 draw against Newcastle. Sanogo, Chung-yong and Ameobi are under doubt while Jedinak and Thomas are still battling injuries. The Eagles have experience in defeating Premier League teams in FA Cup after getting the best of Southampton in the previous round. Joe Ledley is their main man in the midfield area where he managed to win more than 50% of his duels and get the best of his tackles.
Liverpool are 7th in the Premier League and are slowly picking up the form they were lacking in the first half of the season. The Reds might be without their captain who got a muscle strain in the Tottenham win and with confidence flying high within the team, expect another of those highly entertaining matches these two teams have been a part of lately. Sturridge is back, and even with Sterling under doubt, Brendan Rodgers is going to field the best he has, which could see Liverpool with a three man front line of Markovic, Lallana and Balotelli.

The Reds are not doing well at Selhurst Park where they are unable to win in six matches, but you should be able to bet on goals, seeing as the last three matches between the two ended with more than 3.5 goals. Ladbrokes gives 2.00 odds for a Liverpool win, 3.60 for Crystal Palace and 3.50 for a draw. The hosts have 2.75 odds to qualify as opposed to Liverpool’s 1.40. If you fancy Balotelli to score again then Ladbrokes gives you 2.90 odds while Sturridge has 2.37, and despite the Reds being the stronger side on paper, expect a hard fought match where both teams will try to avoid the draw. A goal line of +2.5 has 1.95 odds and we’re going to bet 7 units on the second half with the majority of goals with 2.10 odds from Ladbrokes.

Eintracht Frankfurt vs Schalke 04 (Bundesliga, 14.02.2015)

February 12, 2015 0 Betting, News, Predictions, Soccer

Bundesliga ends on Saturday with a match between two teams with ambitions for European football even if on different scales. Schalke 04 aim for direct Champions League qualification, while Eintracht Frankfurt are seven points away from a Europa League place.

The hosts have only two defeats in eight matches and lately they seem to have specialized in draws; like in the last two games, against Wolfsburg and Augsburg. Alex Meier already has 14 goals in this Bundesliga edition and you should look for him or Seferovic for your goals betting market. The contrast between the great forward line and bad defensive skills is what prevents Eintracht from reaching better results. Augsburg were leading 2-0 in the 37th minute when Aigner fought back on the 45th minute, until Meier scored the equalizer. Against Schalke, Eintracht will be missing on Zambrano due to suspension, which is why they will have to be inventive if they will keep Schalke out.
The visitors are firmly on the third place in Bundesliga and will look for the three points to distance themselves from Augsburg who are on level of points with them. Schalke have been looking more organized at the back and have conceded only one goal, against Bayern Munich, in the last three matches. Huntelaar’s suspension has been reduced to four matches, and his absence is heavily felt as Choupo Moting could replace the Dutchman, but is not getting supplied with passes enough to increase his 9 goals tally. Back in September, Frankfurt were leading 2-0, but Schalke managed to score twice and level the score before the end of regular time.

Unibet favors Eintracht to win at home with 2.25 odds, Schalke to win have 3.10 and both to score 1.48 odds. Over 2.5 goals has 1.62 odds, Eintracht Frankfurt for both halves 3.50 odds, Schalke 04 have 4.90 odds in the same market and the hosts to win the second half 2.48 odds, Schalke 3.20. Seferovic has 3.25 odds to score, Aigner 4.35, Choupo Moting 3.10 while Sam Sidnei and Leroy Sane have 4.10 odds. We are betting 7 units on Alex Meier to score with 2.40 odds from Unibet.
