Schalke 04 vs Hannover 96 (Bundesliga, 31.01.2015)

January 30, 2015 0 Betting, News, Predictions, Soccer

Schalke 04 host Hannover 96 in the 18th round of the Bundesliga to try and aim for the three points all while avenging the 2-1 defeat from back in August. There is a three point gap between the two, but the visitors are on level with Gladbach and Augsburg, and even if they are rather inconsistent Schalke should be an example to follow on how to rise from the relegation zone and battle it out for European football places in the time span of a few matches.

Whoever said Bundesliga is not competitive should have a look at the table where up to eight teams are battling it out for places in Europa League. Hannover 96 has 24 points out of 17 matches is just at a 3 point gap between them and Schalke. Didier Ya Konan returned to the team from Saudi Arabian football and is pumped up to score, considering the visitors are unable to win an away game since November. Schulz, Andreasen, Almer, Miller and Hoffman will have to miss the match which will put the scoring chances on Joselu and Kiyotake, and we know how easily Schalke likes to concede. Hannover played 7 matches without conceding a goal in the first half of Bundesliga and if you think the trend will continue you can bet so with 7.00 odds from 888sport.
The Royal Blues have gained stability in Bundesliga under Roberto Di Matteo, and despite being hit by injuries with Fahrmann, Aogo, Ayan, Goretzka, Kolasinic, Farfan, Draxler and Obasi missing they are boosted by Huntelaar being in great form to count on goals. Choupo-Moting could be paired up with the Dutchman in the forward line seeing as Cameroon was eliminated from the Africa Cup of Nations. Höwedes is sure that with Nastasic’s arrival Schalke’s backline will only improve which will give them a boost in their pursuit of Champions League football; after all they are at just one point from Bayer Leverkusen.

Schalke are heavily favored to win and 888sport gives them 1.90 odds to win, Hannover got 3.85 odds and a draw has3.60 odds. Huntelaar has 2.23 odds to score, Chinedu 3.15, Sam Sidney 3.45 and Max Meyer 4.75; for Hannover Joselu has 3.55 and Karaman 4.80 to score anytime. Schalke to win the first half has 2.50 odds, Hannover 96 4.10, and the visitors with +1 handicap 1.46 odds. We are going to bet 7 units on both teams scoring in the second half with 3.20 odds from 888sport.

Liverpool vs West Ham (Premier League, 31.01.2015)

January 29, 2015 0 Betting, News, Predictions, Soccer

Anfield Road host West Ham United to give Liverpool a chance to claim the 7th place in Premier League. The teams are separated by just one point, and while Liverpool have displayed an improved version of what they can actually show, West Ham are unbeaten in six matches, the last three being wins with six goals scored and only two conceded.

Liverpool are the favorites to win, seeing as they not only will have Sturridge back in the squad, but also Anfield behind them. The matches against Chelsea form the League Cup might have taken their toll, but they did have an unbeaten run of seven matches in all competitions. Another bonus point form them is also the fact that their defensive line is getting better with each match, do notice Chelsea’s forward line, and the fact that they were able to score from a penalty spot, but either than that Diego Costa was not efficient in front of the goal.
West Ham have Carroll and Downing with a point to prove at Anfield and with not as many absences as the players who took part in the Africa Cup of Nations and Collins and Demel who are under doubt, they will look forward to repeat another 3-1 from last year. However, at Anfield West Ham do not have a very good track record with three defeats and a draw in the last four matches. Their Premier League calendar is not one of the easiest either; with Man United and Southampton in the following rounds the visitors will be pumped to win this match.

The visitors are tipped to play a defensive football, and Liverpool have a hard time opening up spaces, and still Unibet gives them 1.66 odds to win, West Ham got 5.30 and a draw has 4.00 odds. It may very well end up being a low scoring match where individuality actions will decide the three points. Sturridge gas 2.15 odds to score, Balotelli and Lambert 2.40, Sterling 2.55 and Borini with Coutinho 3.60; for West Ham Carroll has 3.70 while Sakho has 3.80. We are going to bet 5 units on both teams to score in the second half with 3.25 odds from Unibet.

Atletico Madrid v FC Barcelona (Copa del Rey, 28.01.2015)

January 27, 2015 0 Betting, News, Predictions, Soccer

Atletico Madrid stated they wouldn’t have even get out on the field if they did not believe it would be possible to overturn the result against Barcelona. The odds however seem to disagree with said statement as Ladbrokes gives Barcelona 1.15 to qualify while Atletico got 5.00.

Barcelona come to Vicente Calderon with a minimal advantage
after they were awarded a controversial penalty five minutes prior to the finish that Lionel Messi converted. Atletico Madrid are unable to win against Barcelona in 12 home matches and the visitors will try to increase said statistics all while hoping either Neymar, Messsi or Suarez if in good form get to score against Oblak or Moya. The hosts will miss Diego Godin in the backline due to suspension and during yesterday’s training Diego Simeone experimented with his starting eleven. Torres and Griezmann started as the forward line, but Koke trained on the sidelines and it is yet unclear whether he will be fit to start in time.
Barcelona are due to travel to Madrid today and chances are Rakitic will be available for selection despite neither he nor Mathieu having the medical leave. Luis Enrique called up Halilovic and Diagne to the first team, but it is yet unclear whether either coach will risk not fielding the best he has at the moment. Lionel Messi is recovering the lost form he had when scoring goals; he now has 7 in the last four matches in all competitions. One of the things Barca have to do to secure the lead is prevent the hosts from scoring early in the game. The visitors are aware Gimenez will be as good in the backline with Miranda as Godin was, but it is still hard to see how Barca could lose this match.

Simeone seems to push for Torres to start, but Mandzukic/Griezmann duo is far more efficient in front of the goal. Luis Suarez sat out Barca’s 6-0 win over Elche, but is tipped to start against Atletico who also won in their last league match against Rayo Vallecano. One of the most popular betting markets is the draw, with 3.40 odds. A Barcelona win has 2.20 odds, an Atletico win 3.20 and both teams to score 1.75. Barca for both halves has 3.30 odds, Atletico 5.20 and a handicap of +1 for Atletico has 1.66 odds, Barca with a -1.0 has 3.80. Messi has 2.25 odds to score, Neymar 2.60 and Suarez 2.90; for Atletico, Mandzukic has 3.10 while Torres and Griezmann both have 3.30 odds to score anytime. We are going to bet 5 units on the wincast market Lionel Messi to score and Barcelona to win with 3.50 odds from Ladbrokes.

Lazio Roma vs AC Milan (Serie A, 24.01.2015)

January 23, 2015 0 Betting, News, Predictions, Soccer

Lazio Roma host AC Milan at Stadio Olimpico in an attempt to get closer to the third place that grants Champions League presence. The distance between the fifth and third place is just of two points which has spurred the hosts to life. Both teams lost their previous Serie A matches with the same score 0-1 and this while playing at home.

Lazio has one of the best attacking lines this Serie A season, but somehow without Felipe Anderson they failed to capitalize on the numerous chances they created and ended up losing to Napoli who overcame them on the table. Anderson has not been given a definite return date, and speculations place him back in team training somewhere around February. The Biancocelesti have to rely on Candevra and Djorjevic to get the scoring flowing seeing as Milan will definitely come goal oriented. Lazio like to leave it late to score usually during the last 20 minutes and even with their fair share of injuries they should benefit from the form Milan are in.
The Rossoneri are going through one of the worst forms they could have had. Honda is on national team duty which means Menez will be attributed the playmaker role. Bonera, De Sciglio, Zapata and Rami were ruled out for this match, giving Inzaghi hope that Cerci and Abate behave in civil manner around each other. The coach himself has been sent off after reacting to referee’s decision in the loss against Atalanta. Milan tend to struggle against lower placed teams, losing against Sassuolo, Atalanata but somehow managing draws against Roma and Inter. The Rossonerri could produce the upset, they certainly have the means for it, but if Inzaghi won’t be able to patch up the defense, Bonera will once again be held responsible by the fans.

Statistic wise AC Milan have the upper hand over Lazio with 31 wins in 33 matches, but the hosts have conceded only one goal in their last four matches which makes them favorites with the bookmakers. Unibet gives Lazio 2.00 odds to win, Milan got 4.00 and a draw has 3.35 odds. Over 2.5 goals has 2.08 odds, over 10.5 corners 2.05, Lazio with a -1 handicap 2.95, Milan with a +1 1.45 and an odd number of goals 1.97. Djorjevic, Klose and Balde Diao have 2.85 odds to score anytime while for AC Milan Menez and Pazzini have 3.75. We are going to bet 7 units on AC Milan to score in the second half with 2.20 odds from Unibet.

Japan vs UAE (AFC Asian Cup, 23.01.2015)

January 22, 2015 0 Betting, Predictions, Soccer

After cruising through the group stage, defending Asian Cup champions Japan are set to clash with their toughest opponent yet, United Arab Emirates. Japan won their group by scoring 7 goals in all three matches without conceding and UAE won two of them, while losing the last one against Iran with 0-1. The bookies side with the overall favorites in this match and Japan got 1.36 odds to win while UAE got 9.00.

Javier Aguirre chose to trust the same starting eleven throughout the group stage and it paid off with terrific performances. Being led by Honda and Kagawa Japan are looking sharp on the wings and concentrated at the back. Nagamoto is another key player for Japan, he can either assist the forward line when needed or help out in defense. Okazaki is another jewel in the forward line and while the goals are expected from Honda, tipsters back Kagawa and Okazaki to score first. Yoshida is sure the constant cohesion between the players is what will help Japan overcome UAE.
United Arab Emirates finished second in their group after failing to preserve the draw that would have helped them avoid Japan in the quarterfinals. Abdulrahman is their best player and his ways of controlling the ball and subsequently the play made him one of the breakout starts of this tournament. While the majority has been concentrating on the midfield area for UAE, they might have missed Mabkhout who is clinical in front of the goal, and having scored three so far, including one after just 15 seconds from the start in the group match against Bahrain.

“From my experience in the Copa America, World Cup and the Gold Cup, I can say that our chances are the same as the other seven teams remaining,” Aguirre said. “From now we start from zero.” The bookmakers seem to disagree with said statement and give Japan 1.14 odds to qualify during regular time, and UAE got 5.00 for the same market. Japan for both halves has 1.91 odds, UAE 19.00 and over 2.5 goals 1.95 odds. In their previous four head to head matches Japan won twice, including back in 2013 for the Asian Cup, there was a draw and an UAE win from back in 2005. UAE with a +1 handicap has 3.10 odds, Japan with a -1 2.00 and we’re betting 5 units on Japan to win and both teams to score with 3.75 odds from William Hill.
