Arsenal London vs Galatasaray Istanbul (Champions League, 01.10.2014)

September 30, 2014 0 Betting, Predictions, Soccer

Arsenal could be winning their first points in this Champions League edition as they get ready to host Galatasaray at Emirates. The Gunners lost their opening match against Borussia Dortmund, and Galatasaray were held to a 1-1 draw against Anderlecht. Cesare Prandelli is struggling to adapt the team to a new playing system and they managed to win only two matches from their last six matches. Arsenal struggled against Borussia Dortmund, and proof would be the 23 shots Dortmund fired on Arsenal’s goal line.

Arsenal have injury woes as Arteta, Ramsey and Wilshere might be missing because of various degrees of injuries, but to Arsene Wenger’s luck the midfield is where he can make necessary changes. In Premier League Arsenal recorded a draw against Tottenham, and will look forward to winning a match on home soil, while Galatasaray might be ok even with a draw. Flamini seems to be the only defensive midfielder at Wenger’s disposal, while Oxlade-Chamberlain was Arsenal’s hero to salvage the point in the North London derby.
In the match against Anderlecht, Galatasaray were losing up until the 93 minute when Yilmaz scored the luckiest equalizer seen in recent history. Cesare Prandelli seems to have a fully fit squad, and even if Altintop made a comeback from his long term injury, chances are he’s not yet fit enough to start. Statistics speak against Galatasaray as they only managed to win three games out of a total of 18 against English teams. Felipe Melo is their key player, and if he starts at the back Galata might find a backline depth they did not have.

This match is tipped to be a very close call, but Arsenal have Ozil and Sanchez in great form even if it will be up to Wenger whether the person who slows the team, speaking about Sanchez, will get a starting spot. The Gunners are the favorites to win this match due to the superior Champions League experience, and Titan Bet gives them 1.55 odds for an outright win. Galatasaray got 5.75 odds for an outright win and a draw got 4.33 odds. Over 2.5 goals has 1.75 odds, Arsenal to lead after 70 minutes is at 1.72, Galatasaray at 5.25 and the Gunners to win from behind at 7.00. Danny Welbeck and Alexis Sanchez to score anytime have 2.10 odds, Burak Yilmaz 3.60 and we’re betting 7 units on both teams to score in the second half with 3.00 odds from Titan Bet.

PSG vs FC Barcelona (Champions League, 30.09.2014)

September 29, 2014 0 Betting, Predictions, Soccer

Nicola Rizzoli will officiate one of the biggest matches this round as PSG host FC Barcelona for the second round of the group stage. It will be a re-do of the last 18 from last year where Paris Saint Germain held Barcelona at arm’s length, but ended up losing on away goals. In the first round PSG were held at a draw by Ajax, whereas Barcelona barely managed to win against APOEL.

PSG aim to win the most coveted trophy on the European stage, but with the way they started this season, four draws and only one win in five matches, as opposed to Barcelona’s four wins and one draw in the same number of matches, leaves the French on the improvement road. Despite that the hosts are considered this year’s Champions League dark horses for the title race, and Laurent Blanc is sure Ibrahimovic will play and be extra motivated to win against his former club. PSG have also the advantage of playing at home, but it is yet unclear whether that will help them against a very in form Messi and Neymar.
Barcelona come from a 6-0 win over Granada, and have already seven matches without conceding a single goal. Dani Alves, Pique and the entire backline has been performing wonderfully so far, while Claudio Bravo has been in charge of La Liga matches, Ter Stegen is expected to return for the Champions League clash with PSG. Neymar has also improved his finishing touch and with Lionel Messi assisting the majority of his goals it would not be crazy to bet on Barca to score first at 2.35 with Ladbrokes. Without Thiago Silva, but with David Luiz and Marquinos PSG might be able to hold Barca off, but not for long.

Taking into account all listed above, Ladbrokes offers 2.20 for an outright Barcelona win, 3.20 for a Paris Saint Germain one and 3.40 for a draw, the result of the last two meetings between these two teams. Both teams to score was assessed at 1.66 odds with Ladbrokes, Barca to lead after 30 minutes at 3.40. Over 3.5 goals has 2.87 odds, while we are betting 5 units on both teams to score and Barcelona to win at 4.10 with Ladbrokes.

Chelsea London vs Aston Villa (Premier League, 27.09.2014)

September 26, 2014 0 Betting, Predictions, Soccer

The Premier League leaders meet the third placed team, as Chelsea London look forward to extend their lead with a win against Aston Villa. If Chelsea win at Stamford Bridge, they would extend their lead, while a defeat for Villa would mean a second defeat in a row.

Chelsea comes from a not so good week, after 1-1 against Schalke 04 in Champions League; they were unable to win against Manchester City. It ended 1-1 again, and the equalizer was scored by Lampard, who later refused to celebrate the goal. The Blues will most likely be pumped to win and prove every team has a bad week. They have no injury concerns with only Ramires out with a groin injury. Oscar is tipped to make it back into the squad after scoring a goal in the Capital One Cup, but then your bet could also be on Fabregas.

The Spaniard has already six goal assists, and if you bet on him to score anytime, Unibet gives you 3.00 odds to do so. Their main goalscorer Diego Costa has 1.64 odds to score, and 2.12 not to. At home Chelsea plays better, which allows them to combine styles of play: putting pressure on their opponent, “park the proverbial bus” and still manage to score more than a goal.
Aston Villa had a good start in Premier League, up until they lost with 3-0 against Arsenal. The team’s record of having the best defense was no more as they managed to concede three goals in just 10 minutes. As if the defeat was not bad enough, the team was hit by an epidemic of illness, which saw Delph, Baker, Weimann and Westwood being hit with it. Should they be fit to play, Chelsea will find a good opposition in Delph who last season sported a passing accuracy of 87,9%.

If you want to bet on an outright Chelsea London win, Unibet offers you 1.21 odds, Aston Villa 15.00 and a draw got 6.75 odds. Both teams to score got 2.28 odds; Ivanovic and Fabregas to get booked at 4.75, John Terry at 6.50. Over 2.5 goals can be backed up at 1.58 odds, and provided Chelsea can get back into their previous form, we’re betting 7 units on home team to score over 3.5 goals at 3.70 with Unibet.
