Tottenham vs Liverpool (Premier League Prediction, 31.08.2014)

August 29, 2014 0 Betting, Predictions, Soccer

Liverpool and Tottenham are both with hopes for the fourth place in the Premier League table, only that the bookmakers see the Reds in the top five rather than this week’s opponents. Tottenham are currently on the first place in the Premier League table, with a better goal difference than Chelsea, after the 1-0 win against West Ham and the 4-0 win against QPR.

Eric Dier is also among the best goalscorers, being paired up with the likes of Sergio Aguero and Diego Costa. This time around Tottenham will try to avoid the embarrassment from the last season when they lost with 9-0 on aggregate, but provided Federico Fazio is cleared to play Tottenham will have a renewed backline. Michael Dawson transferred to Hull City, and rumour has it the new captain might end up being Hugo Lloris. Last night Tottenahm qualified for the Europa League group stage after a 5-1 on aggregate against AEL Limassol, and will come in good spirits for the match against Liverpool. Walker and Chriches might miss the match due to injuries.
Liverpool lost against Man City, but with the news of their shock signing of Mario Balotelli, nobody dwelled too much on the fact itself, and are now looking forward to the start of Mario making use of his shirt with the number 45. Brendan Rodgers stated that: “I think by the weekend he’ll be ready. He has been into pre-season and played three 45-minute games. He may not be up to full match speed but he’s looking fit.” Against City, Liverpool looked good, but lacked the precision in front of the goal now with Suarez gone. Liverpool have injury worries of their own as Flanagan, Lallana and Agger are still out of the squad.

That being said, not even the bookies have a clear favorite to win, with Ladbrokes giving Tottenham 2.62 odds to win and Liverpool 2.70. Both teams to score at 1.55, and one of the most popular betting markets is Emmanuel Adebayor to score and Tottenham to win at 4.80, while for Liverpool Daniel Sturridge to score and Liverpool to win at 5.50. We are going to bet 7 units on over 3.5 goals in the match at 2.50 with Ladbrokes.

Ludogorets vs Steaua (Champions League Play-offs Prediction, August 27th)

August 26, 2014 0 Betting, Predictions, Soccer

Ludogorets host Steaua Bucharest to determine which team gets to be present at the Friday draw for the Champions League group stage. This match is between two teams that are the best their respective countries have to offer, and they were pretty level in the first match until a last gasp goal by Chipciu gave Steaua the advantage over their Bulgarian opponents.

Ludogorets ridiculed CSKA Sofia when they won against them with 2-0 all while resting several of their key players. The hosts made a name on the European stage last season when they took out of the competition such names as Lazio and PSV Eindhoven while their road stopped against Valencia. They have no reported injuries or suspensions even if Caicara and Yones have a yellow card from the previous match.
Steaua had a complete makeover starting this season when they changed the manager and lost some of their brightest stars, and still they manage to show some class in their internal competition. The two teams met previously in the beginning of August when Steaua lost with 2-4 even if Ludogorets missed two penalty shots and were leading even with a 4 goals advantage. Steaua have a few injury worries as Arlauskis and Tanase are set to miss the match due to slight muscle troubles.

William Hill favors Ludogorets for this match and gives them 2.20 odds to win, Steaua gets 3.60 and a draw is at 3.00. Both teams to score and Ludogorets to win is at 5.50, same market for Steaua at 7.50, and we’re betting 7 units on both teams to score at 2.10.

Arsenal London vs Besikas Istanbul (Champions League Play-offs Prediction, August 27th)

August 26, 2014 0 Betting, Predictions, Soccer

Arsenal host Besiktas tomorrow for the return leg of the Champion League playoffs, in what promises to be an interesting matchup after the 0-0 draw from last week. Arsene Wenger stated his team’s intention is to win regardless of the fact that now they will have to do without Ramsey, Giroud and Arteta, out most likely for another week due to an injury.

Besiktas could not take advantage of Arsenal being with only 10 men on the pitch, and only Demba Ba seemed to test Gunner’s defense, but his shots either ended up wide of the goal or the Arsenal keeper who was then clearing them over the crossbar. To their advantage is the fact that they have no new injuries to worry about and will once again rely on Ba to stun the fans on Emirates. Against them is that Arsenal have not lost to a team from Turkey on home soil, and they have been unbeaten in three matches.
Rumours have it that Giroud might miss three months, which puts Sanogo under pressure who also is suspected to have a fitness problem. Now that Podolski is said to be leaving the club, the goals duty will fall on Alexis Sanchez at 2.33 with Unibet to score. Tipsters have Rosicky starting instead of Ramsey to provide instant depth and allow Sanchez to develop scoring chances.

Besiktas could be dangerous since they are considered underdogs, but at this stage of the competition experience should speak louder. Unibet favors Arsenal to qualify and gives them 1.38 odds for an outright win, Besiktas has 7.50, and Arsenal as the team to qualify is at 1.20. Arsenal to win without conceding is at 2.07, but we are betting 7 units on the Wincast market of Sanchez to score and Arsenal to win at 2.70 with Unibet.

Chelsea London vs Leicester (Premier League, August 23rd)

August 22, 2014 0 Betting, Predictions, Soccer

Chelsea return to Stamford Bridge for their first home match of the season against Leicester, the newly promoted Premier League team, which managed to snatch a last minute point against Everton. Considering the Blues are one of the favorites for the title it’s no wonder why Titan Bet gives them 1.15 odds to win, as opposed to Leicester’s 15.00.

Chelsea saved their pride in the match against Burnley when Diego Costa’s shot turned out to be Chelsea’s first goal of the season. The highlight of Chelsea’s victory and the match was the goal that Andre Schürrle scored, assisted by Cesc Fabregas, and considering the Blues have no major injury worries, their intimidating lineup should stop Leicester from scoring against yet unknown goalkeeper. Leicester have not received a good fixture list for the start of the season, with all the Premier League coming one after another at them. It’s no wonder that they want to show a good style of play after a nearly 10 year absence from the first tier. They do have some injury worries, as Drinkwater, Matty James and Matt Upson will miss the match, while Jamie Vardy returns in time for the clash on Stamford Bridge.
The previous meeting between the two sides took place in 2012 when Chelsea defeated Leicester in the FA Cup, and went on to win the Champions League title. But Leicester is not a team to be that easily dismissed just because they came from the Championship where they recorded the most wins in a season and managed to reach Man City’s record of the most Championship titles.

Over 3.5 goals is at 2.35 with Titan Bet, Chelsea for both halves at 1.65 and both teams to score at 2.20. Diego Costa as an anytime goalscorer is at 1.61, Drogba at 1.83 though it is yet unclear why Fernando Torres has been given the same odds to score as opposed to Andre Schürrle’s 2.10. We are going to bet 7 units on Chelsea winning both halves at 2.30 with Titan Bet.

FC Cologne vs Hamburger SV (Bundesliga Prediction, August 23rd)

August 22, 2014 0 Betting, Predictions, Soccer

Bundesliga welcomes back FC Cologne after a two years absence from the top tier of the German football and pits them against Hamburger SV in their opening match. The bookmakers give FC Köln the edge over Hamburg, with Ladbrokes offering 2.25 for an outright win for the hosts while Hamburg are given 3.10 with the same bookie.

FC Cologne or Köln if you like it best were the champions of the second Bundesliga, had a six points advantage over the next placed team and their main goalscorers Patrick Helmes and Anthony Ujah netted 23 out of Köln’s total at the end of the season. They also made signings meant to strengthen their already solid defense that should keep them in the Bundesliga for the upcoming season. Injury wise they only have Helmes missing out, but Stöger should be able to find a replacement until he gets back.
Hamburg had a bad last season in Bundesliga, were on the verge of being relegated, and a great deal of luck against Greuther Fürth allowed them to continue with the big names. Their pre-season friendlies showed a much stable performance from Hamburg as they managed to win seven out of their nine matches, but Lazio and Guangzhou Evergrande prevented them from boating with a no-conceding record. They lost one of their best players, but transferred a midfielder from Napoli and one from Mainz, a thing which did not work in their favor as they struggled in the DFB Pokal against Ennergie Cottbus who is in the third league.

Köln have a positive record of winning against Hamburg, and with their stadium already sold out they will be wired up to win. Ladbrokes gives both teams to score 1.61, Köln to score in both halves is at 3.00, Hamburg at 3.80, and the coupled market of both teams to score and Cologne to win at 4.00, which is what we are going to bet on 5 units.
