Parma vs Lazio [Prediction, March 30th]

March 28, 2014 0 Betting, Predictions, Soccer

Lazio was always planning for a Europa League spot, yet their latest 2-0 defeat to Genoa of all teams put everything to a pause. In the match against Parma, they will try to cut back something of the 6 points deficit to the last Europa League spot for which William Hill offers them 2.08 odds.

In the match against Genoa they saw themselves, not only being led by two goals to nil, but also losing Ledesma to a red card in the 90th minute. Lazio went down a place after the defeat, and out of the latest 15 points they could have won, they only managed to salvage 7 of them. Their mixed result alternate between losses against Atlanta and more recently Genoa, to a draw against AC Milan but at home they look better and statistics show they don’t concede more than a goal.
Parma looked too flustered against Juve and even though they deserved the points, they didn’t get it as they lost with 2-1. Up until then they were sporting an unbeaten run of 9 matches, but Carlos Tevez had to put a stop to that with his brace. After the result they have one point less than inter, but have a game in hand. To their credit they managed to equalize against Juventus by having only 10 men on the pitch and still make the Serie A leaders run for the ball.

A draw between the two sides is at 3.30 and Parma to score in both halves is at 4.40. You can bet on Klose to score at 2.45 and we are going to bet 7 units with William Hill for over 2.5 goals per match.

Liverpool vs Tottenham [Prediction, March 30th]

March 28, 2014 0 Betting, Predictions, Soccer

Liverpool is in a very good condition at the moment in the Premier League table as they are scheduled to host Tottenham on Anfield Road. Judging by Liverpool’s latest results it is no wonder why the bookies concentrate their attention more on the goal related markets. The Reds have Sturridge, Suarez and Steven Gerrard for the penalties, but Tottenham needs the points in the race after Everton.

Tottenham is not in a good place, as they were sporting three consecutive defeats in all competitions, before managing to win against Southampton during the weekend. They managed to come from behind and win with goals from Sigurdsson and Eriksen. Their injury worries rely on the fact that it yet still unknown whether Kyle Walker will go to Anfield since he is still struggling with a injury. Erik Lamela and Chiriches are both having back pains, yet the Spurs are still expected to give Liverpool hard times.
Liverpool is looking flawless in attack, even though they struggled a bit against Sunderland, it wasn’t because the lack of trying. Gerrard scored first after Suarez allowed him to take the free kick, and Sturridge made it 2-1 to mark Liverpool 7th win in a row. Their form at Anfield pushes them forward as the overall favorites to win this, and increase their goal difference.

An outright Liverpool win can be backed at 1.49, a draw at 5.00 and a Tottenham win at 7.20. Sturridge and Steven Gerrard as anytime goalscorers are at 2.00, respectively 2.84 and we are going to bet 8 units on over 3.5 goals as 2.20 with odds from Betfair.

Schalke 04 vs Hertha Berlin [Prediction, March 28]

March 27, 2014 0 Uncategorized

Schalke is battling with Borussia Dortmund for the second Bundesliga spot and after their inconclusive 0-0 draw there is still one point separating the two teams. Ladbrokes gives Schalke the edge to win the match against Hertha, even though the hosts will be without Kevin Prince Boateng who needs to serve his suspension.

In the match against Dortmund, Schalke was the luckiest of the two teams as the only reason Dortmund didn’t score was because Fährmann provided several crucial saves against the Dortmund strikers. Schalke didn’t go in just for the one point to walk away with; they also needed the boost of confidence after the humiliating Champions League exit and the Bundesliga 1-5 defeat against Bayern Munich. Hertha managed to win just one point out of the last 10 matches against Schalke 04, and the latest match ended with Schalke’s 0-2 victory.
Hertha came from the second Bundesliga tier this year, but by the way they are playing one wouldn’t say that. They are currently on the 9th place and this year doesn’t look to favor them at all. They have three defeats in a row, the most recent one against Bayern Munich and one of their downside is that they rely solely on one striker. Among the good news for the team is the return of Sebastian Langkamp from suspension.

Schalke is good this season in home games and Hertha Berlin does not concede points that easily, so this particular match up should be very interesting. A Schalke win is at 1.75. a potential draw at 3.75 and a Hertha Berlin win at 4.50. Among the most popular betting market is Schalke to win and over 2.5 goals for the match at 2.50, while the draw and over 2.5 is at 10.00. We are going to bet 8 units on Schalke to win both halves at 4.25 with odds from Ladbrokes.

Napoli vs Fiorentina [Recap, March 23]

March 25, 2014 0 Uncategorized

Fiorentina managed to pull themselves together and win 0-1 against Napoli, thus putting enough distance between them and Parma. The bet we placed with William Hill on both teams to score and Napoli to win didn’t pay off, perhaps due to the fact that the hosts were left with 10 men in a match that otherwise they would have won without any problems.

Napoli heavily relied on Higuain to open the score and he almost did that 10 minutes in the game after receiving a long pass from Pepe Reina. Fiorentina’s goalkeeper should have gotten Man of the Match award, as it was his saves that kept the score level up until the 87th minute when Joaquin scored from inside the box.
We think the fast paced match broke on the 37th minute when Napoli were left with 10 people after Ghoulam fouled Marko Bakic and received a straight red card. Callejon still tried his luck with an offensive action engineered by himself only but Neto was as always in place and cleared the shot. In the second half all Napoli could do is capitalize on counter attacks as Fiorentina was pushing forward to break the deadlock.

Joaquin broke through the left wing closer to the end and passed the ball to Matri whose header ended up being way off target. The only goal came as a result of Joaquin finding Pepe Reina all alone as for some reason Napoli was left with no backline and after this result with literally no hopes of finishing second in Serie A.

Hannover 96 vs Borussia Dortmund [Recap, March 22]

March 25, 2014 0 Betting, Recaps, Soccer

While Borussia Dortmund managed to postpone the title celebrations in Munich for a few more days at least, we won the bet placed with William Hill on the visitors to win the first half in the match against Hannover 96.

Dortmund had three different goalscorers, as Mats Hummels, Robert Lewandowski and of course Marco Reus helped the team win to nil in a match where Hannover looked equally as dangerous. Andre Hoffman and Huszti continued to cause problems to the Dortmund defense throughout 90 minutes, but they weren’t clinical enough to be able to score even from inside the box.
For Borussia Dortmund it was Grosskreutz who had the first chance to score in the first half, but his shot was saved by Zieler. Hannover had two more chances to score, but Weidenfeller denied them the first goal of the night. This award went to Mats Hummels who opened the score on the 43 minute to give Dortmund the lead at half time.

Even though Hannover requested a penalty, the referee decided otherwise in the beginning of the second half. On the 52 minute Lewandowski managed to fend off three Hannover 96 defenders and then finish off in great style. It was 2-0 for Dortmund, who never eased on ball possession even after leading to nil. Reus had a few missed opportunities to score himself, until the goal went his way on the 91 minute after a great assist by Mkhitaryan.

Chelsea vs Arsenal [Recap, March 22]

March 25, 2014 0 Uncategorized

We only predicted half a bet when going for both teams to score and Chelsea to win betting market with odds from William Hill. The feel you would have got after the match was that there was only one team on the field, and a Szczesny who even with great reflexes couldn’t withstand the attacks by himself.

Chelsea started the match with a really fast pace and was rewarded with a goal on the 4th minute when Eto’o gave Chelsea the lead after a well-placed ball which Szczesny couldn’t reach. And barely two minutes after, Jose Mourinho remembered he has a great asset in the strikers department that is not Fernando Torres. Andre Schürrle made it 2-0 after sending the ball through Koscielny’s legs.

Nobody really knows the reason Arsene Wenger sent in a starting eleven that had the midfield looking deserted, and have only Sagna near Hazard. Another mistake that raised more than one eyebrow occurred in the 15th minute, when Gibbs was sent off even though it was Chamberlain to commit the offense inside the box. Apparently the referee didn’t want to take into account nor the Chelsea squad, not Chamberlain himself as he sent off the wrong guy without wanting to listen to reasons.

It ended with a 6-0 score that did little to no good to make Arsene’s Wenger’s 1000th match at Arsenal’s helm a party. Arsenal needed at least a point out of this match, to really be able to hope for a title, but now they’ll have proper time to concentrate fully on the FA Cup where they are the outright favorites to win.

Result: -5 units, bet lost

Napoli vs Fiorentina [Prediction, March 23]

March 21, 2014 0 Uncategorized

Both teams have been knocked out of Europa League last night, and both have a thing to prove in Serie A. William Hill gives Napoli a slight edge to win, seeing as there is a 10 points difference between them on the table. Napoli has been the more constant team out of the two as in Serie A they have been unbeaten in their last five matches. Meanwhile Fiorentina has lost three out of their last five meetings and only managed to salvage the fourth place because Inter has played even worse.
Napoli has been impossible to beat at home this season, as they only lost one game out of their 14 there so far. The hosts have also been unbeaten in their head to head matches against Fiorentina, but they should not rely on the fact that Fiorentina barely managed to win against a 16th placed Chievo Verona. It remains to be seen whether Montella will once again bet on Mario Gomez to score, which would bring the German paired up with Ilic in attack.

While it is possible for the match to end in a draw, at 3.50 with William Hill, we are predicting both teams to score and Napoli to win. With 6 units at 4.00 with William Hill, this coupled market presented the most value for us.

Hannover 96 vs Borussia Dortmund [Prediction, March 22]

March 21, 2014 0 Betting, Predictions, Soccer

If the match between Borussia Dortmund and Hannover 96 would have happened a few weeks ago, questions about who would be the winner wouldn’t have occurred. The bookmakers are still giving an edge for Borussia Dortmund to win regardless of their extended injury list.

Hannover 96 is 11th in Bundesliga and looks safe from relegation and even though they lost against Bayern Munich and Mainz 05, their youthful squad could cause problems to any Bundesliga defense. Their top goalscorer is a former Manchester United player; Biram Diouf has eight goals on his account, while Huszti has seven, three of which are penalties.
Dortmund on the other hand are second in Bundesliga and after sporting two defeats in a row are looking rather shaky, even in attack. They stayed second because Leverkusen sports an even worse form than die Borussen. Robert Lewandowski is the frontrunner to score first or even at anytime, and for at least a few more months, Dortmund doesn’t have to worry about a replacement.

Their head to head matches have been in favor of the visitors which would explain just why they have four wins and a draw in five matches. After the 1-2 defeat against Zenit, the team admitted to being lucky about being in the next round where they will have to do without the Polish striker who will serve a one match ban.

We are going to put 8 units on Dortmund to win the first half at 2.13 with odds from William Hill, even though you could easily bet on Dortmund to win to nil at 3.15 or under 2.5 goals at 2.17.

Chelsea vs Arsenal [Prediction, March 22]

March 20, 2014 0 Uncategorized

The fight for the Premier League title will be decided in the head to head matches between the top four teams and William Hill has special betting markets and moneyback offers for all of them. Chelsea hosts Arsenal on Stamford Bridge in what is expected to be a win for the Blues.

The hosts never lost at home since Jose Mourinho is their coach, and an outright Chelsea win is priced up at 1.91 with William Hill. While they are on the first place, their strikers have been the talk of the town, or so to say their presence mainly on paper. Somehow their attacking power has shifted to the midfield where Eden Hazard has become instrumental in the latest Chelsea wins. Mourinho can also boast with great result against the biggest teams, and will probably look forward to maintaining a winning mentality over Arsene Wenger.
The Gunners come after a 1-0 win over Tottenham, and unlike Chelsea, their strikers do score goals. Even though they lost against Liverpool, Man United and the Citizens they are still on level with Liverpool on the Premier League table. This match will be Wenger’s 1000th at the Arsenal helm, and he is confident the team can walk away with a good result.

David Luiz is back from his back injury, which leaves only Ashley Cole under question with his knee problems. Arsenal is not expecting any of their injured players back, which might prompt a starting eleven similar to the one against Tottenham.

An Arsenal win is priced up at 4.20, a draw at 3.30, while the headline offers are Hazard to score and Chelsea to win at 5.00, and Giroud to score and Arsenal to win at 8.00. The money back offer includes a free bet available for the correct score market if the match ends 0-0. We are going to bet 5 units on both teams to score and Chelsea to win at 4.20 with William Hill.

AC Milan vs Parma [Prediction, March 16]

March 14, 2014 0 Uncategorized

AC Milan don’t look well at all as they head into the match against Parma, and Betfair offers you the possibility to lay against them if you feel like it.

The Rossonerri were always aiming to climb up higher than the 10th place they currently reside on, yet even with Clarence Seedorf in charge they weren’t able to do much as they lost against Udinese with 1-0. To make things even worse they also lost with 4-1 against Atletico Madrid, and were unable to progress any further in the Champions League. So far, this season Milan has 38 goals against them, and Parma has 29, so while AC Milan lost four out of their last five matches in all competitions, Parma won three and has three draws.
Parma is being coached by a former Milan star, and Roberto Donadoni is full of praise for his team that can easily be accounted for as one of the best this season. Marco Parolo is already dreaming of Europa League, partially due to the fact that his team is the favourite to walk away with the points from San Siro. Recently Parma won against Hellas Verona with 2-0, and are one point short of the 5th place, but with a game in hand.

Milan’s form leaves a lot to be desired and they are left without any kind of incentives for this season. Parma on the other hand has an unbeaten run of already six matches, and their worst result will be a point, for which Betfair has 3.75 odds.

Among the most popular betting markets is also the over 2.5 goals per match at 1.99, but also AC Milan to win both laves at 1.01. We are going to bet 6 units on a Parma win at 4.80 with odds from the same bookie.
