Brest – Paris Saint Germain [Recap]

December 29, 2012 2 Betting, Soccer, Sports

The match from the French League I,  that took place on the 21st of December between Paris Saint Germain and Brest ended in a comfortable 3-0 victory for PSG. This means that I’ve definitely won the bet I placed on PSG’s victory. This achievement will probably lead PSG to the top of Ligue 1 by the end of 2012.

Even if Alexis Thebault – the home goalkeeper – was in outstanding form, the Swede Zlatan Ibrahimovic managed to break the deadlock in the second half after the hosts had been reduced to 10 players in the 35th minute, when Abdou Sissoko was dismissed.

The second and the third goals were inevitable. Pastore created room for Thiago Motto to score the second goal of the match. Even if his move was interrupted by Thebault, he eventually proved to be helpless. The last goal of the match was scored by Bernard Mendy, who deflected the effort of Jallet before finding the net.

All in all, Paris Saint Germain managed a neat, capital victory against their neighbors, Brest, and with this terrific success they are very likely to finish this year on top of the French League I’s chart.

Brest – Paris Saint Germain [Prediction]

December 20, 2012 3 Betting, Soccer, Sports

On the 21st of December, the French football team Paris Saint Germain is going to meet Brest. Alex Dupont will have to overcome some disadvantages regarding the match that is going to take place this Friday. For example, Larsen Toure has been ruled out for the rest of the season, while the absence of the Colombian midfielder Jhon Jairo Culma is another crucial long-term problem. Brahim Ferradj, on the other hand, will make a long-awaited return to action, but probably only from the bench.

On the other hand, Carlo Ancelotti remains without Javier Pastore, after the ex-midfielder of Palermo limped off in the France Coupe, winning over Sable. Clement Chantome is back from a bad injury, and might take his place in the midfield with Kevin Gameiro.

At the moment, Brest is situated on the 11th position in Ligue 1, with 24 points. Also, they are currently on a five match unbeaten run. On the other hand, Paris Saint Germain occupies the first place in Ligue 1 with 43 points after their 3-1 victory over Toulouse.

As for the last four head-to-head confrontations between the teams, PSG has won three matches, and the fourth one was a draw. The last victory achieved by Brest over PSG took place in 1985.
All in all, I think it is pretty clear who is going to win this match. I am going to place a bet on PSG’s victory. I bet 10 units at 1.57. The odds I used are from William Hill.

Real Madrid – RCD Espanyol [Recap]

December 20, 2012 5 Betting, Soccer, Sports

The match between Real Madrid and RCD Espanyol from the Spanish Liga ended in an unbelievable and totally unexpected draw. This means that I’ve definitely lost the bet I placed on the victory of Real Madrid.

The first goal of the match belonged to RCD Espanyol, who broke with a quick counter attack as Verdu picked up Garcia with a terrific pass. The striker beat two men before he found the bottom corner of the net. That was for sure an impressive goal!

In the first minute of the first half’s extensions, Ronaldo added the first goal to his team. Khedira sent in a cross from the right and picked out Ronaldo in the middle of the box. The striker scored a clean volley, leaving Casilla breathless.

When everyone was sure about the result, the 88th minute came with a ravishing surprise. The corner of Espanyol left Real Madrid with no chance to clear it. It eventually fell to Albin who smashed it into the back of the net from close range.

All in all, I think RCD Espanyol made a very nice performance, certainly with the help of a bit of luck. Still, I can’t be happy for the lost bet.

Real Madrid – RCD Espanyol [Prediction]

December 14, 2012 3 Betting, Soccer, Sports

Real Madrid is going to meet RCD Espanyol on the 16th of December at the Spanish Primera Liga. At the moment, the football players from Real Madrid can’t complain of any severe injury problem. On the other hand, Lassana Diarra is back and Hamit Altintop has resumed training again so that he could be fit in time.

Raphael Varane, the France U21 international talent managed to be in line for a terrific start in central defense. He came instead of the suspended Pepe. The coach of Espanyol, Mauricio Pochettino, received some positive news regarding the return of Serigio Garcia, who has recovered from a knee problem which kept him out of action since the middle of January.

The long-term absentees Walter Pandiani and Javi Marquez have also returned from their injuries, reinforcing the Catalan side. Also, the goalkeeper Cristian Alvarez and Juan Albin have reported to be close to making returns, and Ernesto Galan is available again.

Regarding the last five head-to head confrontations between the two teams, Real Madrid has categorically won all of them.

All in all, I think there is no room for doubt here. I am going to place a bet on Real Madrid’s victory. I bet 10 units at 1.10. The odds I used are from Bet365.

Nürnberg – Fortuna Düsseldorf [Recap]

December 11, 2012 3 Betting, Soccer, Sports

The German football team Nuremberg managed an impressive 2-0 win against Fortuna Düsseldorf in their last game at Frankenstadion. This also means that I won the bet I made on the victory at Nuremberg.

Feulner was in sparkling form for the hosts, and Polter was the one who brought his team the first goal in the 27th minute. After that Feulner was restored to the Nuremberg starting XI since Hiroshi Kiyotake had the flu. The change with the former midfielder of Bayern Münich proved to be an inspired one, providing the team with a fresh, enterprising start of the game.

Fabian Giefer did his best to keep Düsseldorf in the game, but unfortunately there was little he could do in order to prevent a defeat. The result of this match made Fortuna Düsseldorf fall behind Nuremberg, on the 15th place. They proved to be simply unable to stem the flow of dangerous crosses from the Nuremberg side. Another delivery of Feulner was headed straight at Giefer by Javier Pinola.

The only real threat from the visitors came from the header of Dani Schahin, who was cleared off the line by Timothy Chandler on the hour mark. However, Giefer was kept busy as Nuremberg pushed for a second goal.

All in all, with this highly deserved victory, Nuremberg finishes the season in a perfect form.

Nürnberg – Fortuna Düsseldorf [Prediction]

December 5, 2012 3 Betting, Soccer

The German football teams Nürnberg and Fortuna Düsseldorf are meeting this Saturday at Bundesliga I. I think this is going to be an interesting encounter, since no team has been shining lately. For example, Nürnberg has only won one match against TSG Hoffenheim out of the latest five. Two of them ended in draw – one goalless draw with Greuther Fürth and another 1-1 draw in the match against Bayern.

On the other hand, Fortuna Düsseldorf has 2 victories, an absolute one against Eintracht (4-0), a 2-0 victory achieved against Hamburger, one 1-1 draw in the match with Borussia Dortmund, another 1-1 draw with TSG Hoffenheim and one lost match in front of Werder Bremen.

Nürnberg could boast with the 1-1 draw “achieved” in the match against their much better ranked rivals, Bayern Münich. In that match, Nürnberg did very well and managed to mobilize themselves and ensure that Bayern was unable to maintain an offensive and ferocious strategy. On the other hand, Fortuna Düsseldorf might feel proud of the 1-1 draw in the match against the giant Borussia Dortmund played on the 27th of November.

All in all, even if the two teams appear to be almost at the same level, I think that judging by the latest performances, Nürnberg has greater chances to win this match. Thus, I am going to place a bet on Nürnberg’s victory. I bet 10 units at 1.93. The odds I used are from IBCBET.

Hamburg – Schalke 04 [Recap]

December 4, 2012 3 Betting, Soccer, Sports

Hamburger SV came back from a disappointing loss at Fortuna Düsseldorf and managed an extremely surprising 3-1 victory against FC Schalke at the Imtech Arena. Unfortunately, this also means that I’ve lost the bet I made on the victory of FC Schalke.

The goals scored by Maximilian Beister and Artjoms Rudnevs in the second half of the match put the Red Shorts firmly in control, before Klaas-Jan Huntelaar scored from the spot ten minutes before the end of the game. In the glorious finale, Milan Badelj wrapped things up for Hamburg in added time with a successful penalty kick.

The hosts almost managed to take control in the seventh minute, when Denis Aogo drilled a low shot against the post. Revealing few signs of the missing playmaker Rafael van der Vaart and the top scorer Heung-Min Son, both affected by injuries, Hamburger continued to play their best and built their way to success.

The drama reached its pitch when Adler turned an amazing Fuchs’ free kick round the post at one end. After that, Barnetta hauled Aogo down, which led to another penalty – this time for the home side. In the end, SV Hamburger achieved a truly impressive and well-deserved victory in this match.
