Sevilla – Atletico Madrid [Prediction]

This Sunday, the Ramon Sanchez Pizjuan stadium will open its gates to a match that many see as a chance of recoup of last month’s Copa del Rey game that saw Sevilla lose to Atletico on aggregate. William Hill offers the best odds for the game, and you can choose your own winner.

Both teams have important absentees, Sevilla with Campana and Trochowski out with injuries and Atletico with Tiago and Turan with a sprained ankle and a hamstring respectively.  Other than that, both teams come into the game with completely different moods, Sevilla comes after a 3-3 draw against Betis. Sevilla was already ahead in the 7th minute, then managed to double their efforts, but saw themselves being equalized in the second period. Sevilla finished the game with 10 people on the field, yet managed to keep up the result and not concede any goals.

Atletico Madrid comes from a thrilling 5-0 win over Granada, who is one point away from being relegated. Koke ran the show for Atletico, having scored a hat trick for his team, and helping them keep the 11 points advantage of the third place. With just several rounds to go, Atletico seem to have the last direct Champions League spot covered, but this shouldn’t be a reason to slack and take everything for granted.

Their last game was in Copa del Rey, where Atletico advanced to the final after a 2-2 draw that saw the Madrid-based team advance to the finals on aggregate. Sevilla finished that game with only 9 people on the field, and managed to come back and score, proving once again that a match doesn’t end until the last whistle. Sevilla continued pushing, but didn’t manage to find that last breath of air that would have allowed them to score once more and advance to final. This week’s game should be rather interesting considering how the last one finished.

The game is scheduled to begin at 20:00, GMT+1, and I’m going to bet 6 units on Atletico’s win with 3.00, odds from William Hill.

I got into the exciting world of sports betting years ago when information on the subject was much more difficult to find. Of course I made a lot of rookie mistakes and bad bets but over time I learned from those experiences. Nowadays, those who want to start out placing sports bets have the opposite problem. There’s so much information available that it’s so hard to sort through it all and to know who to listen to. With this blog I’ll be doing that work for you and I’ll strive to bring you nothing but the best betting tips and information the internet has to offer. I invite you, my readers, to actively participate and share your feelings and experiences by commenting on my blog entries!

Here I found some statistics and a video with the latest match between these two teams: http://www.footytube.com/video/sevilla-atletico-madrid-feb27-162004 …those charts revealing the ways the teams played (great, average, rubish etc) are really cool and allow bettors to make a clearer opinion:
