Lyon – Sochaux [Recap]

Last weekend my disappointment reached its peak, turning into real anger when the former French leaders Lyon were once again defeated by a weaker team. Sochaux simply humiliated them when Giovanni Sio scored the first goal for his team. This result, apart from leaving Paris Saint-Germain seven points clear at the top of Ligue 1, has also made me lose the 10 units I bet on Lyon at William Hill.

In the 50th minute, Sio put the guests ahead using a powerful header and later on, he set up Cedric Bakambu for the winning goal. On the other hand Lyon needed 68minutes until Bafetimbi Gomes found the net.

It seems that the words of Lyon’s captain, Maxime Gonalons didn’t manage to get to the players’ ears: “We must not ruin everything after our very good first half of the season. Let’s go back to work and keep our spirits up”.

Lyon simply cannot find their way to an equilibrated game. They haven’t won in their latest four league matches and have slipped to the third position, with 53 points after Marseille; also thanks to a 1-0 victory against OGC Nice.

In the match against  Sochaux, Lyon were the ones who dominated the game at the beginning; but it didn’t last too long until the visitors could take the lead. After Sio managed his impressive figure, the hosts started pushing hard for an equalizer. Alexandre Lacazette almost succeeded, but his shoot from the right struck the woodwork one minute before he was awarded the penalty.

In conclusion, Lyon proved that they are really not reliable anymore, and that these several defeats suffered in the last period were not a simple coincidence.

Result: -10 units, bet lost

I got into the exciting world of sports betting years ago when information on the subject was much more difficult to find. Of course I made a lot of rookie mistakes and bad bets but over time I learned from those experiences. Nowadays, those who want to start out placing sports bets have the opposite problem. There’s so much information available that it’s so hard to sort through it all and to know who to listen to. With this blog I’ll be doing that work for you and I’ll strive to bring you nothing but the best betting tips and information the internet has to offer.

I invite you, my readers, to actively participate and share your feelings and experiences by commenting on my blog entries!

Indeed, Lyon are not even the shadow of what they used to be (http://www.olweb.fr/en/team/history-185.html)…huge disappointement…
