In the match with Fiorentina that took place this Sunday, Torino admirably managed to came back from a three goals difference and level the score, but a late winner from Romulo has eventually dispelled all their hopes. Due to the highly disputed 4-3 Fiorentina’s victory against Torino, I won the bet I placed on Fiorentina with odds from Betfair.
After the solid 2-0 win achieved last week over Atalanta, Vincenzo Montella made four changes to his Fiorentina side by switching the team’s formation from 3-4-2-1 to 4-3-3. Nenad Tomovic, Stefan Savic, Marcelo Larrondo and Adem Ljajic replaced Facundo Roncaglia, Manuel Pasqual, Mohamed Sissoko and Mounir El Hamdaoui.
On the other hand, after the disappointing defeat suffered against Roma, Giampiero Ventura made only two changes with Danilo D’Ambrosio coming in for Salvatore Masiello at left-back, and Gonzalo Barreto replacing captain Rolando Bianchi up front.
Even if Fiorentina were expected to be leading the match from the start, it was Torino who had the first clear chance to score, when Riccardo Meggiorini worked hard to down the left side by pulling back for the late-arriving Alessio Cerci. Unfortunately, Stefan Savic intervened and deflected his side-footed effort.
This match was undoubtedly much disputed and also dramatic. The Viola were the ones who dominated the match after all, in spite of Torino’s permanent and appreciable efforts to remain in the game.
