Ajax – Borussia Dortmund [Recap]

Borussia Dortmund made themselves remarkable once again. They achieved a superb 4-1 victory, by defeating Ajax yesterday at the Champions League. This means that I’ve categorically won the bet I placed on Borussia Dortmund’s victory.  Within just 8 minutes, Borussia opened the scoring  via Marco Reus, before Mario Gotze doubled the lead with a nice finish.

After Reus set up Gotze down the right and continued his attack against Ajax, the home side immediately tried to hit back, by threatening Christian Eriksen and Derk Boerrigter after a corner. However, the shot of the former was blocked by Dortmund’s side.

A clumsy defending after a Borussia’s free kick lead to the second goal of the evening. After the pass of Mats Hummels, Gotze was left unmarked, and cut inside from the left before the past of Ricardo van Rhijn.

Things got worse for Ajax in the second half. Gotze tried his chances in the 41st of the match with a volley from outside the area, but his shot was immediately parried away by Vermeer. In the 67th minute, Gotze from Dortmund sent in a nice cross for Lewandowski, who controlled the ball in a superb way, before scoring from a narrow angle.

In conclusion, once again, Borussia proved to have no opponent.
